The Collingwood Harvest Festival enjoyed its sixth year on Saturday 22nd April.

Harvest Festival 2006Locals flocked from all around to catch a glimpse of the beautiful festival site and to grab some of the delicious fare available on the day.

As usual Nga's noodles went very quickly, as did the juicy sweet corn cooked on the BBQ by the Cultivating Community gardeners. George Hall did a fabulous job of MCing the event and played host to an impressive swag of local performers.

The lineup of talent started at 2pm and didn't stop, from the beautiful show put together by youth group – Live Wires - to the end of the day when Australia breakdancing champs ‘Wickid Force' strutted their stuff just before the ‘King Marong' West African drumming and dancing group led us to the spectacular bonfire. The massive Community Information Centre tent was a great place to be this year where many community agency folks could chat, have a cuppa and find out what everyone else was up to. Mara did a fine job of pulling all the food tents together. As you can imagine it's no mean feat coordinating all those food stuffs and getting those BBQs cranking for a crowd of over 600 people.

Thanks to everyone at DACCHTA, the cast and crew had the karaoke machine pumping and fizzy drinks to help them wind down after a hard day's work.
